Alternative Black Country Night Out performers are featured in the BBC TV & Radio week long broadcasting project called
'VOICES' . Earlier in the year the
Creative co-operations team that organize the ABCNO evenings - musician / songwriter Gary O'Dea (GOJO' MUSIC), contemporary Black Country dialect performance poet Brian Dakin (Billy Spake Mon), and Dudley based author and publisher Greg Stokes - aided by Black Country rock n' roll beat poet Brendan Hawthorne (the Black Country's answer to Jim Morrison), were interviewed at The Lamp Tavern - Dudley by BBC presenter / researcher Nadine Towell. The lads discussed the origins, development and future of the Black Country dialect as it evolves and embraces with other cultural tongues in the region.
