Footie News - Tune into 'The Toon'

Bit of news regarding the mighty Tipton Town FC. Sports presenter Daz Hale from BBC Radio WM (and one time member of local indie rockers The Moneygods - anyone remember 'Suck Me In and Spit Me Out' ?) will be presenting his show live from Tipton Town FC on the evening of Tuesday 15th November. It'll be a cracker - he'll be interviewing loads of folks connected with the club - and fans and there's also rumour that an ex - Tipton / West Brom and England player will be turning up (he played for another local club for a while as well but their name escapes me - ha ha).

Turn up if you can - if you can't - then tune in on 95.6FM/VHF. For more info on the night and other exciting things happening at 'The Den' visit this link

We're away to Cradley Town tomorrow - another local derby - I hope it's we that do the 'ommerin'.

Creative Co-operations / Alternative Black Country Night Out - Over and Out

The Creative Co-operations team (Gary O'Dea / Brian Dakin and Greg Stokes) have called it a day. The remaining Alternative Black Country Night Out shows starting with this Friday (14th Oct) at The Newhampton have been cancelled.

Thanks for your support at these events. Gary O'Dea will be concentrating more on GOJO' MUSIC and still promoting in the future while Brian and Greg will be doing a more poetry / literature style event.

Out of respect for the work that's been done the parties have agreed that neither will be using the name Creative Co-operations or the title of Alternative Black Country Night Out in their new projects - this was a unique event for a while. Thanks very much for your support at these evenings - myself Brian and Greg all worked very hard on them and really appreciated your support.

GOJO' MUSIC are supporting one of the best songwriters / musicians that's ever come from these shores - the excellent Martin Stephenson at The Little Civic venue in Wolverhampton on Tuesday 29th November - your support (as ever) would be greatly appreciated.

All the best and here's to the future.

GOJO' MUSIC GROOVIN' ON

A packed Alternative Black Country Night Out gig at The Lamp Tavern - Dudley on Fri 30th Sept - saw Gary O'Dea join Perry Foster on stage at the end of Perry's set to accompany him on harmonica for a couple of songs.

Gary said "To get to blow a bit of blues harp with Perry was a thrill - he's a gem, a local 'unknown' legend in a way, who's played with the best and has a great history, and because of his association with one of my all time hero's - Blues harp legend Sonny Boy Williamson - it was even more special."

Amen.
