Hello GOJO' Groovers - this is just to bring you up to date with happenings over the past few days.
We have just completed the recording sessions with Martin Stephenson for our debut 4 track EP and to say that we're chuffed to bits is an understatement! The rough mixes are great. The final mixes will take place over the next couple of weeks up in Scotland at Stephenson HQ. To work with Martin has been an absolute joy - the guy is a gem. The whole thing has been recorded with love and respect and to have been able to record it at my home with Martins portable studio has made it even more special - definitely Made In Tipton...with 'Geordie at the Controls'.
It was recorded across the afternoon and evening of Monday 24th April (me and Martin then working until about 2am into the Tuesday morning on guide vocals / guitar etc, for the following day), the afternoon and early evening of the 25th (we then broke early to take Martin for a curry up The Sharzia curry house in Owen St - Tipton - 'bostin' fodder - we highly recommend it), then we completed the sessions on the afternoon of Wed 26th - 4 songs nailed down.
I've got to pay tribute to the lads - they were on fire with their performances during the sessions - top notch, and we were joined by my old piano / keyboard player Andy Stokes who has just returned from Germany and traveled down from Liverpool for the sessions (there's no way he's escaping again - 'Hot Gravels' back in town - gotcha' Andy - ha ha).
To work with Martin has been a wonderful experience for us all. His support, encouragement and understanding of what we wanted to capture on the songs - basically 'he knows what he's doing' and does it with such great spirit...it's been bliss - even the sun came out and the birds started to sing for us - wicked. What a contrast to the aborted sessions last August with a useless scheming git in his 'garden studio' who had the audacity to call himself a studio engineer... and who's studio we had the unfortunate experience of stepping in - we'll never lower our standards again to help someone out!
Thank you Martin - for helping to restore our faith and belief in what we're doing...you're the real 'Angel of The North' brother.
So - there's the final mixes to do...then the covers and label design (with help from 'Miss Hewett' - god bless ya' Nicci). The release date is yet to be finalised...but we'll keep you all informed of developments - don't worry about that.
We'd like to thank you all for your continued support.
Love and respect.

The new home page pic is a live one from our Little Civic gig - Wolverhampton 23rd Feb 2006. Pictures courtesy of David Clutton (adapted by Nicci Hewett) - many thanks to you both. More pic up dates shortly...once Mr Tucker finds the time owing to being very busy distributing porn and filth across the Internet (ha ha ha gotcha' Davy boy)...but we still love him.
