GOJO' MUSIC get US outlet...join The Melodic Revolution

Hello Groovers,
Some great news for us we'd like to share with you. We now have a US sale and distribution outlet for our debut 4-track EP/CD 'Twenty Years Of Love and Pain...they hurt the same' - through Nick and Jennifer Katona's renown and much respected 'world of music' store Melodic Revolution - based in Clinton, New York.

Nick and Jennifer had the revolutionary idea to gather together music from every corner of the world and deliver it to their clientele, both local, national and world wide. Music that they themselves are passionate and knowledgeable about... so much more refreshing don't you think than the bland music stores / Internet retailers etc, etc. Nick says "we're very knowledgeable about what we sell."

Regarding GOJO' MUSIC - we came to Nick's attention via the response to our MySpace pages (thanks to DJAY BUDDHA for his support). Nick said "It's a great CD and I'd love to stock it" - so he has!

So all of you 'Stateside' based GOJO' MUSIC Groovers can now order your copies through Nicks Melodic Revolution by visiting the web site - our CD will be listed in the Independent Music section www.melodicrevolution.com/localmusic.php

Thanks for your support (and Nick and Jennifers) - it makes all the difference.

Love and Respect

Tipton Town FC earn an FA Cup Replay

Bit more news on the footie front...well, we're still in the FA Cup after a well earned 1-1 draw at home against high flying Buxton from the Unibond League. The lads put up a very good effort and deserved another crack at Buxton. A good turn-out crowd wise and good travelling support from Buxton. It'll be a tough match up in Derbyshire but the lads will give it a go - as ever. Roll on Wednesday - Buxton here we come.

For those of you that missed the BBC Midlands Today News report from Tipton's ground on Friday night, or those of you from outside the area and ex- Tipton pats now living elsewhere, you can view it via this link to the BBC web site:-

Cecil Patton Memorial gig - fitting tribute....and Late News Breaking This Just In...Tipton Town FC on the TV...it's FA Cup weekend

Hello Groovers,
First of all can I just say thanks to everybody that turned out for the Cecil Patton Tribute night @ The Roadhouse - Stirchley, Birmingham last night - great turnout...and especially to Cecil's family who traveled from across the UK and Ireland. Special thanks to John Benbow and Dave Fitzmorris for organising it - it was a fitting send off to Cecil and the pics and video's of him that we're featured on the big screen were great - well done.

NOW - for those of you able to tune into BBC TVs Midlands Today News tonight at 6:30pm - well the mighty Tipton Town FC are gonna' be featured because in case you didn't know...we're in the FA Cup (1st qualifying Round) tomorrow (Sat 16th Sept) at home to Buxton (Derbyshire) who are top of the Unibond League. It's the biggest game in Tipton's history and will be a tall order because of the quality of the opposition - but hey' ain't that what the FA Cups all about - so make sure you all get down 'The Toon' on Saturday and give em' a cheer. Well done to Bonky and the lads and to Jenna / Bill and Angie for the sterling work at the club.

What about ye' - GOJO' MUSIC @ CECIL PATTON Tribute Night - Thursday 14th Sept - The Roadhouse, Stirchley - Birmingham

"What about ye"

GOJO' MUSIC will be performing as part of the memorial evening and tribute to Belfast born - but for many years Birmingham based - singer / songwriter Cecil Patton - who tragically died suddenly in July 2006 at the age of 40. See Gary O'Dea's tribute to Cecil published on these web pages http://www.gojo-music.co.uk/press/cecil.pdf

The gig takes place on Thursday 14th September @ The Roadhouse Venue, Wharfside Leisure Complex, Lifford Lane, Stirchley, Birmingham, B30 3DZ - Tel: 0121-459-5660. Doors open: 8:00pm - bar till 12 midnight.

The evening is 'free admission' and will feature some of the best Birmingham and surrounding areas songwriters and musicians. Cecil was a much loved character - this event though tinged with sadness will be a special evening - so come along if you can. The event through donations will be raising money for a charity of Cecil's families choice.

Be early - this is going to be a 'full house'...people are travelling from all over the British Isles such was the scope of Cecil Pattons friendship to one and all.

'God bless ya' Cecil and thanks for The Craic'

Cheers for your ears yesterday on the Janice Long Show...GOJO' MUSIC

Thanks to everybody on our mailing list that tuned into the Janice Long Show yesterday (Sat 2nd Sept)on BBC RAdio WM - whether on radio frequency or Internet. To old fans and to new people that have contacted us via the web-site and sent me e-mail messages and phone messages - thank you all very much it means such a lot - great support.

We've shifted a few CD's following yesterdays programme and we'd like to thank Janice, her producer Nicole and Ciaran Ryan for what they did for us - GOD BLESS.

For anyone that wants to tune in again you can access the programme via the BBC's 'Listen Again' on-line service - here's the link -
Janice Long Show BBC Radio WM

Listen to the whole show if you have the time, Janice plays some great stuff (as ever). It was great to meet her, when you think about her profile in playing some great music over the years - we were pretty humbled to appear on her show. If you want to zap through it to our spot on the show use the 15 min and 5 min fast forward options. We were on about 11:15am - so that's about 8 clicks on the 15 min one - then use the 5 min one - but listen to Lonnie Donegans 'Lost John' - it was great that we followed a song from Lonnie - without whom there'd have probable been no Beatles / Stones etc...read John Peels autobiography if you doubt this.

We did an interview with Janice about working with Martin Stephenson on the EP (she's a big fan of Martin's) and she played 'Distant Friend' from the CD, which I dedicated to Martin, Nicci Hewett (who did our sleeve and label design) and to the memory of my old friend Cecil Patton (who sadly died in July). Me and Olly also did a live acoustic version of 'Tell Me Please, Is This How The West Was Won?'.

So it was a great mornings work...in fact the whole day was bloody great cos' Tipton Town FC won 1-0 against Rushall Olympic in Tipton's first appearance ever in the FA Cup (preliminary round).

All's Well In The World

Respects to you all

Gary O'Dea
