C'mon The Toon...Tipton that is!
Been to see Steve Winwood tonight at JBs club in Dudley - so was unable to get to the second leg of the Midland Alliance League Cup semi-final between Market Drayton and Tipton. The lads held out for a 0-0 draw and have got through to the final against Leamington next Thursday (May 3rd) - the final being played at Walsall Football Clubs Bescot Stadium. Well done lads - great stuff. Hope we have better luck than our final appearance at Bescot last year in the Walsall Senior Cup - Leamington can have all the possession - we'll just have all the luck!!! Gaza PS - Steve Winwood was okay.

Civic 'reception' very good...Betterville video republished
Thanks for all the nice comments about our substitute support slot to Chris Isaak at Wolverhampton's Civic Hall on Thursday night. If someone had told me on Thursday morning that we'd be appearing at The Civic Hall that night I'd have called for assistance. But then the call came through from Phil Turner at The Civic (a very, very nice man) at lunch time asking us if we could step in for the support slot - who'd had to pull out - apparently it was Ben Taylor who was on the Chris Isaak tour (nice one Ben)! So - after mucho' telephoning / texting / e-mailing / organising / re-organising and generally raising the stress levels a bit - plus - the 'events' of a Carry On nature happening to me whilst trying to get home to get my stuff (thanks to Central Trains) - and the hassle of Olly and Ecka getting to the Civic for 6pm so that the stage / tour manager could check us in - we were then rushed up to a dressing room - then rushed back down for a quick sound check - rushed back up to the dressing room...and before we knew it - we were on at 8pm! 30 mins later - we're off...with a lovely response from the crowd and some cool comments from members of Chris Isaak's band and road crew - managed to sell a few CDs as well - nice one! Back in the dressing room to a feeling of ' PPHHEEEWWWWW! - and trying to take it in'! Apparently the whole concept is called...'Rock n' Roll'...though it makes you feel 'alive'...it can also kill you! I'd never realised - I'm going to have to take it much easier from now on!!!!!!! Also - we've republished the (Get Me On A Bus To) Betterville video on our MySpace page (via YouTube). Here's the links http://www.myspace.com/garygojomusic and http://youtube.com/watch?v=aHqomfBINls - we'll also make it available via the video link in the 'Media' section of this site in a few days. 'Super Duper' Dave Tucker has managed to work wonders in getting this video file re-sized and squashed down enough to broadcast it via YouTube/ MySpace etc, without it distorting (out of sinc etc) too much at all...it's near enough perfect - like it is on the DVD...the man is a genius - bless him! So - 'That Was This Week - That Was'! Have a chilled out weekend...thanks for your support. Gaza

News updates - The Good, The Bad and the Whatever...
Hello Groovers - just to bring you up to date with goings on at the moment (and at times I wonder just what is going on and if it really is worth the effort)... Question mark over our appearance at the NUTS In NOTT'S - Geordie Invasion Festival on Sat 5 th May in Warsop nr Mansfield. Due to circumstances between the promoter and the venue the festival may not go on - please check on our gigs page listings for updates and confirmation of our appearance. We'll confirm/cancel a.s.a.p - although it does now look doubtful. This news just added to what I can only use the old hippy cliched description of 'bad Karma' to describe, regarding events of the last few days. Such as - getting totally pissed off with working my nuts off trying to organise and pull things together for no reward at all - just more hassle and bollocks. Pissed off of Tipton am I... ...then keyboard player Andy Stokes 'adventures' with trying to book car hire from Car Hire firms in Liverpool so he could join us for weekend rehearsals - twice booking vehicles to then be let down - which meant that the planned rehearsals didn't go to plan - Andy was stuck in Liverpool!!!... ...then the engine in Ecka Cox's van (that we use for gigs) blowing yesterday!!!... ...and today I've just loaded a 'homemade' promo video that I put together with Dave Tucker (who's done a great job on it) for the (Get Me On A Bus To) Betterville song from our 4 track EP onto our MySpace (via YouTube) page - to find that for some reason the footage becomes slightly out of sinc with the track on the YouTube server. I've loaded it up from my hard drive and DVD formats that are both perfect - but for some reason its not running right on here - have a look and see what you think via www.myspace.com/garygojomusic - any technical wizards amongst you that may have an idea how I can rectify this please respond. Also - all four tracks from our debut EP/CD 'Twenty Years Of Love and Pain...they hurt the same' are now available for your listening pleasure via our MySpace page at the above link. Yours - suffering for his artGary O'Dea
