It's several months later & I've just learned of Cecil's passing. I'm in shock. Found Gary's tribute to him on the internet - beautiful. I met Cecil in '93 in B'ham. I was one of the American students living with Ian & Sue Chamberlain in Harborne (the same program that Amy was part of but a few yrs earlier). Cecil spent many hours at our home playing with Ian in the front room. I can still hear him singing "I Fought the Law," "The Green & Red of Mayo," etc. If I close my eyes, I can still see & feel his heavy-stomping foot tapping in time to the music. He was wonderfully gifted, funny, full of life - it was contagious. I'm glad to have known him. My thoughts & prayers to the Patton family.

DJAY - you are a star. Yes that so called Studio Engineer' was a complete tosser...you know the sort - all the gear but no knowledge - a complete fake - who got a hell of a lot out of his association with me/us.
He ruined a couple of friendships that was the sad thing...but you live and learn...and then we did that gig with Martin back in Nov last year and he's had similar (well a hell of a lot worse really) run ins with 'parasites'. He restored my faith in people you meet in this game...and then the follow on from working with Martin and getting to know people such as yourself...Peacock Pete etc, etc, well - it's like taking a showerafter a shit day.
Take care DJAY and thanks for the postings and your support. I'll see in Newcastle on the 15th Dec and we'll get up to Scotland next year - I'm determined.
