Gary O’Dea LIVE 2021…

First of all thank you to all of you that supported my Bandcamp page and purchased downloads throughout the lockdown period.

It’s been wonderful to be back and able to play gigs again …and this includes the return of The Songwriter Sessions that I have promoted previously for a two and a half year period at The Wellington in Birmingham and now in their new home of The Craven Arms in Birmingham City Centre.

Next gig happening though is in the lovely town of Shrewsbury and is…

SAT 27TH NOVEMBER: The Return of THE GENTLEMEN BANDITS: @ IN GOOD HANDS MUSIC CAFE, 88 / 89 Frankwell, Shrewsbury, SY3 8JR. Doors 7pm – Tickets £7. (featuring Gary O’Dea vocals / guitar, S J Downes guitar / vocals and Jim Houghton percussion / vocals).

Over 20 years ago in what now seems like a different land…in amongst all the indie and baggy scene and club raves etc etc…making a complete nuisance of themselves and upsetting the apple cart, were a collection of ‘ne’er-do -wells’ called The Gentlemen Bandits and their ‘romping, raucous stomping, country rocking, Anglicana, seedy blues infested HULLABALOO MUSIC’…well…they’re back and are collectively gathering in a variety of numbers to make strategical ’hits’ on towns and cities across the land to rescue you for a few hours and give sermons of comfort and toe tapping tunes. Birmingham has already been ’serviced’…it’s now Shrewsbury’s turn…we’re here to help! #ONELOVE

There will be three sets of music…the opening set will be a solo spot from singer – songwriter Gary O’Dea followed by a solo set from British Country Blues songwriter S J Downes…the final set will see the lads together as THE GENTLEMEN BANDITS playing a fine mix of original funky, country, folky blues with soul. DO NOT MISS…SEE BOTTOM OF PAGE FOR POSTER. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased direct from In Good Hands Music Cafe or you can contact Gary and pre-order them and pay/collect on the door.

SUN 12TH DECEMBER: The last SONGWRITER SESSIONS of 2021 takes place @ 4pm: Upstairs @ The Craven Arms, 47 Upper Gough St, Birmingham, B1 1JL

Resident songwriter / host Gary O’Dea plus a welcome return to a Songwriter Sessions favourite … Mr Ben Wildsmith …based now in his Welsh family roots heartland of Cardiff but originating from the streets of Birmingham and the Black Country, Ben is one of the finest purveyors of folky blues guitar picking and songwriting you can find…this will be a great gig to set you up for the Chrimbo Festivities …get it in your diaries 👍😊💚🎶🎅🎄🎄 DO NOT MISS…SEE BOTTOM OF PAGE FOR POSTER. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased direct from The Craven Arms or you can contact Gary or Ben and pre-order them and pay/collect on the door.

Please share this on and spread the news …thank you all for your support.

WE HAVE TWO VERY SPECIAL GUESTS FOR THE FIRST TWO SONGWRITER SESSIONS OF 2022 – planned for February and March next year…DETAILS WILL BE RELEASED IN DECEMBER ON THESE GIGS. We have been working hard to line other QUALITY ACTS up that suit the remit of the ‘Sessions’ and are hopeful of delivering more of the same throughout 2022.
GOJO’ MUSIC presents…
THE SONGWRITER SESSIONS…Sunday afternoons – once a month – Upstairs @ The Craven Arms, 47 Upper Gough St, Birmingham, B1 1JL.
Support this little musical gem of a ‘get together’…a cosy little upstairs room above a great little traditional city centre pub in the heart of Brum. Appreciative audiences of songwriters doing their own original works. Think of those classic old stories of intimate folk / blues clubs that sprang up in the 60s, but given a twist to accommodate the varying musical styles of the past decades bringing it right up to date with contemporary performers from near and far.
Add to that the great friendly atmosphere of The Craven, the award winning beers and independent ales oh and the quality traditional bar food of varying home baked cobs of your choice, sausage rolls, pork pies, scotch eggs etc etc…courtesy of  John Brabbins, Sandie, Libbie and James and Sandy

Thanks for all your support this year …All The Very Best To You and hope to see you at gigs in 2022

Gary x
