Ben Wildsmith…based now in his Welsh family roots capital of Cardiff, but originating from the streets of Birmingham and the Black Country, Ben is one of the finest purveyors of folk / blues style guitar picking and songwriting you’ll find. Ben played an absolute stormer of a gig for our ‘Songwriters Sessions’ back in Oct 2018…this will be a much anticipated ‘WELCOME BACK’.

Paul McDonald…celebrated author of ‘The Walsall Trilogy’ of hilarious realism ‘Surviving Sting’, ‘Kiss Me Softly Amy Turtle’ and ‘Do I Love You’ (books that saw sons of Walsall stand up and proudly announce ‘Sparticus Style’…’I’m Dave McVane’) 🙂 …as well as these there are other titles such as ‘Loffing Matters’, ‘The Philosophy of Humour’…and add to these poetry collections such as ‘An Author Goes Bananas’ and ‘Catch A Falling Tortoise’ and also Pauls brand new book ‘Midnight Laughter’ published via V Publishing which has received rave reviews describing it as ‘very funny and very unsettling’ …’precision cut gems of stories’ . Paul performed at our first ever Rhythms, Readings & Rhymes Collective in 2017 and was excellent. DO NOT MISS.

John Robinson… The Bar Room Bard and The Wellingtons own Poet in Residence…with a volley of prose on the social landscape and a pint of your best please bar keeper 🙂

Sun 22 Sept: Songwriter Sessions – with my Special Guest the wonderful  Jess Silk  The Wellington , Bennett’s Hill, Birmingham, 4-7pm …tickets £5. Jess has been smashing it on the folk/punk circuit for a few years now and this young female Black Country based singer songwriter puts the ‘radical’ back into a collection of rhythm rockin’ tunes.

Sun 20 Oct: Songwriter Sessions – with my Special Guest – from Cork, Ireland – Cormac Sheehan from the band Twitch Jnr  @ The Wellington, Bennett’s Hill, Birmingham. 4-7pm…tickets £5. Cormac – as well as playing guitar in the excellent Twitch Jnr – also runs the original songwriters night ‘No Covers’ at The Friary pub in Cork city.
